What the hell
are you trying to do here, Carl?
That's a good
question; I'm not really sure how to answer it.
First off,
let me emphatically state that someone being pictured in this
site makes no statement regarding anyone's sexual orientation.
To get to the
"meat" of the matter, I enjoy attending street fairs
and taking pictures of men who catch my eye, either because of
their hairiness or their state of undress (or dress!) or their
build or whatever other reason I might find to snap the shutter.
What I am doing here is displaying some of the photos I have taken
over the years while out with my camera and at local "gay"
street fairs [Folsom and Castro Street Fairs, Up Your Alley (aka
Dore Alley Fair)], the Stonewall 25th Anniversary celebration
and parade, and the San Francisco Gay Pride celebrations. I'll
do updates at random with no real pattern. If you ask, I can add
you to my Updates e-mail list.
What kind of
men do I like and what do I look for? What attracts me? There
must be something, but I begin with a word of warning
I believe the
pictures posted here pretty much answer the question of what I
like. I make no claim to be a spokesman for the gay/queer world
nor do I attempt to be PC (politically correct). I take pictures
of what I like or find appealing at the moment. If you don't see
your "type" or find what you're looking for, I'm sorry.
Keep looking, though, I think I have a pretty good variety of
types, but the majority will be what I like at the moment I snapped
the shutter. Your man may be hiding in here somewhere.
I'll try to describe
what I like. A big, bushy moustache is one of my biggest weaknesses.
I also like goatees (van Dykes?) and neatly-trimmed beards. I
really like a couple of days' stubble, especially with a 'stache.
I generally see faces or eyes first; well, I'll admit to baskets
and butts, too. Whether you call it "furry" or "fuzzy"
or "mossy" or "hairy," I like body fur, although
fur is not absolutely essential. Masculine appearance is essential.
I prefer well-proportioned men and am generally not very fond
of big bellies, although some men can and do carry it well. Being
on the short side myself, I tend to like men who are down on my
level. Then again, I like to find a man I can look up to; sometimes
my perspective on really tall men puts their essentials right
at eye-level. While clipping or trimming fur is OK, shaving body
hair is a no-no and permanent removal is an undescribable desecration;
I like pubic hair and think a hairy crotch is part of being a
man. I like boots and socks (especially with shorts or nothing
else at all) and jeans. Levis 501s (without a shirt) are
great, especially with some of the buttons open and and are best
with no underwear. I generally like a flat or a little-bit rounded
belly with a "V" tapering into the pants, especially
when the pants are really low and pubes show. I like 'em like
this:
or
Suffice it to
say I like exposed bodies. I try to avoid using the term "bear."
It has too many different definitions to be useful, since it seems
no two people seem to completely agree on what makes a man a "bear"
is and everybody seems to conjure up a different image every time
they see or hear the word. Am I picky? Yeah, maybe a little. But
all these things are preferences, not absolutes. Hell, lets face
it
I just like
men!
